Verified Competencies Demonstrated by Mikolaj Gajewski

By completing this curriculum to the standards of the IxDF Educational Codex, Mikolaj Gajewski has demonstrated mastery of how to:

  • Generate original ideas on demand using divergent methods like Bad Ideas and Arbitrary Constraints to produce solutions reliably and to deadline.

  • Sharpen and develop ideas using convergent methods like Embrace Opposites and Teasing Apart, Piecing Together (TAPT), to shape rough ideas into workable concepts.

  • Identify which ideas are genuinely new and useful to users, comparing the full range of options to choose the strongest concepts to develop.

  • Lead and facilitate ideation sessions using Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats.

  • Build an environment that nurtures creativity and remove the common barriers that hold people back, raising the creative output of an entire team.

  • Plan and time-manage creative work, including large, ill-defined "wicked problems," delivering high-quality results even when the path forward isn't clear.

  • Break through fixation, bias, and creative blocks to keep projects moving when the work gets stuck.

  • Apply the four stages of the creative process (preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification) to move a problem from research through to a polished, workable solution.

  • Recognize and work within different thinking modes, including lateral, divergent, and convergent thinking, switching between them to suit the challenge.

  • Differentiate between puzzles and wicked problems and choose the right approach for problems that have no single correct answer.
