UX & Participatory Democracy Digital Platforms. Metadecidim

Add to your calendar:

Hola Uxers,

Hello Uxers,

We are organizing our next meeting for December 15th at the Canòdrom. This time we will meet LAB and PX team of Metadecidim, which are at the beginning of the development of the democratic participation platform Decidim. Decidim PX (Participant Experience). Participatory design for democratic digital platforms.

This type of platform poses UX theory and methodology questions in trying to solve a key challenge: What type of design model must be followed to improve the experience of Decidim participants?

Following the LAB we will all join a workshop by the Metadecidim PX team trying to solve some of the platforms challenges. We will end the evening with some networking.

17:30 - 18:00 Presentation of IxDF and Decidim
18:00 - 19:00 Lab Metadecidim*
19:00 - 20:00 Workshop by Team PX (Participant Experience)
20:00 - 20:30 Networking

*For this 60-minute Lab we need 3 UX designers who would like to participate as speakers. If you are interested please send us an email to idf.barcelona@gmail.com answering briefly to the following questions and we’ll contact you. If you know someone who should be on this panel, please pass it forward. (The panel will be in Spanish)

- What UX models or design paradigms already exist?

- What factors need to be taken into account (information architectures, interface design, navigation) What basic recommendations would you give?

- What is the most appropriate model and how could it be adapted to answer to the idiosyncrasy of a project such as Decidim?

- What practical implications (challenges, possibilities..) exist transitioning from a traditional UX model to the PX concept

- What role does participatory experience play in the constitution and participation in new forms of online democracy, as well as its possible success or failure?

- What connection is there between experience and participation? What are the theoretical and practical central guides we should use to think about this. Which methodologies should we be applying?

Understand more about PX and the goals of this Lab here: https://goo.gl/ornbv8

The panel and activities will be in Spanish, although if you are able understand but not speak very well we encourage you to join us.
