Reflections on UX Leadership and Growth: Insights from Rich Warnaka’s Meetup
I’m grateful to have participated in Rich Warnaka’s meetup today, where he delivered an engaging presentation titled “Stuck in UX Hell? Leadership Principles To Drive UX Maturity.”
Rich shared actionable strategies for UX professionals aiming to step into leadership roles and champion organizational progress toward UX maturity. He highlighted three transformative approaches to gaining traction:
Showcase Project: Demonstrating value through impactful, visible initiatives.
Executive Sponsor: Cultivating relationships with high-level advocates.
Power Principle to Grow: Leveraging key principles that drive sustainable change.
During the discussion, I contributed thoughts on the importance of expectation setting and its critical role in effective team building.

I'm excited to join the upcoming meetup.
I wanted to share a few observations from my experience registering for the event using my Samsung Android device. I found it a bit challenging to locate the registration link on mobile.
Additionally, I’ve drafted a short LinkedIn article to provide some info on the topic, and a teaser for the event and to highlight both the IxDF and our NYC Local Group.
However, I noticed it wasn’t straightforward to find a shareable link that included referrer credentials. The “View More Details” button appears to be the only link that attaches the member name, but this isn’t immediately obvious.
To improve the experience, I suggest adding a clearly labeled promotional link—something like “Use this link to invite others”—that works seamlessly for both members and guests. This would make it easier for us to share the event and help grow our community.
