When Psychology Meets UX is an event series created for UX designers and product thinkers who are curious about the human side of decision-making and how it shows up in real products.
We are excited to welcome you to ATworld Alexanderplatz for a special edition of When Psychology Meets UX. This time, we are joining forces with the WelcomeBerlin x Aspiring Founders Meetup #15, so alongside Shani's session you will find expert corners, parallel sessions, founders, and ecosystem people all under one roof. A great excuse to stay for the whole evening.
This session tackles a question every designer is sitting with right now: AI can build a usable interface in seconds. So what is left for us? Shani Barzilay's answer is the last 25%, and she grounds it entirely in human psychology. We will look at how shapes build trust, how saturation controls energy, how typography sets tone, and how motion signals life. And crucially, how to encode all of that into your tools so AI builds what you actually mean, not its safest guess.
What You Can Expect
You will spend 30 minutes exploring the psychology behind the details that make an interface feel alive. Shani Barzilay will walk through real examples from products like Wise, Stripe, and Arc, and show how deliberate choices at the level of pixels create genuinely different emotional experiences. Alongside the theory, Shani will also share her actual behind-the-scenes work processes, giving you a practical look at how these concepts are applied in day-to-day workflows. The session will be moderated by Tamir Bar-Niv.
After the session, the broader event runs until 21:00 with expert corners, other parallel sessions, and plenty of time to network over food and drinks.

Each month, we mix learning with honest conversations, sharing ideas, tools, and reflections on how behavioral science can shape the way we design and think. It is a friendly space to connect, exchange experiences, and grow as more mindful, human-centered designers.
