    Hi all,

Let's give this another shot. We've now got a time and location for what will hopefully be the first(?) official IDF Newcastle meetup.

Jamie (UX Designer at Newcastle University) and I (Head of UX at Status Digital) will be there to welcome you and we'll both be bringing some friends and colleagues who also work in UX (and/or related fields).

We were also talking about maybe setting up a Slack channel for the local UX community. Would like to know if anyone thinks this would be of interest?

    Cheers!

Hiya, so I've checked out the venue (albeit inadvertently as I was a week early — I must still have that holiday haze). I'll aim to get there for about 5:45 next week to make sure we get some seats. I've also setup a Slack channel which could be handy for anyone to message ahead of the meetup, or indeed if they need directions. You can join the channel here.

    Hi everyone :)

I'm super new to the IDF world, but I really want to get involved with the community online and offline.

I'll try my best to get along to the meeting on the 7th, but I'm on holiday on the 9th so I can't promise I'll make it until a little closer to the time (I always leave packing to the last minute).

I'd be totally up for a Slack channel, so if that ever comes about, give me a shout.

Look forward to meeting you all.

    Cheers
    David

Hi @everyone! I’m a UX/UI Designer that has recently moved to Durham and would really like to attend these meetings. Are they still going on? what about the slack channel?

    Cheers,

    Sofia

Questions? We've Got Answers

What is an IxDF Local Group and why should I join one?

An IxDF Local Group is a meeting point for people with a passion for design in your city.

You don't need to be a designer, just passionate about great design and how it can improve your work and career.

Meetups are the heartbeat of IxDF Local Groups, whether we meet at a café, a creative space or a local company. There's nothing quite like the magic of meeting face-to-face to share ideas and inspiration.

We also host regular IxDF Design Dinners, where we enjoy great food and help each other learn and grow. Even a simple coffee meetup in a café can ignite collaborations and friendships that last a lifetime.

You'll also have a private and exclusive online forum where you can openly get help and career advice.

Simply put, we learn together and smile together.

You'll expand your career network, discover new skills, explore job opportunities, meet potential clients, or even find your next dedicated team member when you join an xDF Local Group.

Remember: Your network is your net worth.

What goes on in an IxDF Local Group?

Your IxDF Local Group is led by an IxDF Local Leader and serves as a vibrant hub where you can network, learn and grow.

Here's what you can expect:

  • A community of professionals from all walks of life, who share a passion for great design and how it can benefit their career, their company, and society in general.
