2020 Guest Speaker Meetup Series featuring Michael Longe!

Add to your calendar:

Hi UX designers in Seattle! Take a break from holiday shopping and learn "Prototyping with a Purpose."

Prototyping is a powerful tool in the UX Designer's kit to help explore, explain, and validate concepts at any product stage. But mastery of this tool means more than developing skills with the latest screen-sequencing software or web app. It also means fully understanding what you're trying to do or learn, and which prototyping method may be quickest vs. best for getting answers.

In this talk, Michael will discuss goals for prototyping, share collected best practices, show examples from a wide range of projects, and provide helpful heuristics for future reference.

Our presenter, Michael Longe, is an accomplished design leader and team manager with hands-on experience in UX design, research, and rapid prototyping for mobile, embedded, and desktop/Web platforms, as well as an MBA focused on Technology Entrepreneurship. Beyond his daily duties defining UX strategy and establishing Design Ops for evolving companies, his knowledge and personal interests have spanned Cloud-connected devices, UI technology patents, assistive and augmentative technologies, electric vehicles, and robotics. Michael has restarted his consulting business to offer ValidConcept – a comprehensive design, prototyping, and user research service.

Finally, and this is VERY important, please do not commit unless you are 100% certain you can attend! We've had numerous meetups with poor attendance compared to those committed, and it affects the meetings. Remember, empathy for your users (the rest of the attendees). See you soon!

Questions? We've Got Answers

What is an IxDF Local Group and why should I join one?

An IxDF Local Group is a meeting point for people with a passion for design in your city.

You don't need to be a designer, just passionate about great design and how it can improve your work and career.

Meetups are the heartbeat of IxDF Local Groups, whether we meet at a café, a creative space or a local company. There's nothing quite like the magic of meeting face-to-face to share ideas and inspiration.

We also host regular IxDF Design Dinners, where we enjoy great food and help each other learn and grow. Even a simple coffee meetup in a café can ignite collaborations and friendships that last a lifetime.

You'll also have a private and exclusive online forum where you can openly get help and career advice.

Simply put, we learn together and smile together.

You'll expand your career network, discover new skills, explore job opportunities, meet potential clients, or even find your next dedicated team member when you join an xDF Local Group.

Remember: Your network is your net worth.
