Jodi Forlizzi is the Herbert A. Simon Professor of Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. She has advocated for design research in HCI, and her current work examines the ethical impacts of AI systems in service industries such as healthcare and hospitality, and how AI can support meaningful work for people with disabilities. She is an ACM SIGCHI Fellow, received the 2024 SIGCHI Lifetime Research Award and has testified before the US Senate on AI innovation.
