Alistair G. Sutcliffe is Emeritus Professor of Systems Engineering at the University of Manchester, where he was based in the Schools of Computer Science and Business. His research spans human-computer interaction, requirements engineering, scenario-based design and socio-technical systems. His books include User-Centred Requirements Engineering (2002), The Domain Theory: Patterns for Knowledge and Software Reuse (2002) and Multimedia and Virtual Reality: Designing Multisensory User Interfaces (2003). He founded IFIP Working Group 13.2 on user-centred design methodology.
