UX/UI Designers

You will join a large Federal Government agency delivering accessible digital products and services for participants, providers and internal staff. The agency is focused on improving user outcomes through human-centred design, contemporary design practices and continuous improvement.

Your new role

As an UX/UI Designer, you will lead and contribute to design activities across discovery, research, interaction design, interface design, prototyping, validation and implementation. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will translate user needs, research insights and business requirements into accessible, evidence-based digital solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading UX/UI design activities across the end-to-end design lifecycle.
• Applying human-centred design methods to understand user needs.
• Developing conceptual and implementation-ready designs, prototypes and specifications.
• Facilitating workshops, design activities and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Collaborating with product managers, business analysts, developers, researchers and other stakeholders.
• Contributing to design systems, reusable patterns, standards and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced design practitioners where appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience delivering user-centred digital products and services using human-centred design methodologies.
• Strong experience across user research, interaction design, interface design, prototyping, testing and validation.
• The ability to translate complex user, business and technical requirements into practical and accessible design solutions.
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation and influencing skills.
• The ability to communicate design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with design systems, component libraries or design governance frameworks.
• Experience using contemporary design and prototyping tools such as [REDACTED], [REDACTED] or [REDACTED].
• Previous experience within government, the public sector or a highly regulated environment will be highly regarded
