UX/UI Designer with React — Part-Time, Fully Remote
About this role
UX/UI Designer with React — Part-Time, Fully Remote
Location: Remote (Mexico)
Work model: 100% remote
Employment type: Part-time — 24 hours per week, flexible schedule
Salary: $30,000 – $40,000 MXN monthly
About the role
We're looking for a UX/UI Designer who also writes code. Someone who doesn't just hand off a Figma file, but turns it into working React components and stays involved in how the product looks and behaves in production.
You'll be the only designer on the project, so this role suits someone who can own the design end to end: set the direction, make the calls, and ship without waiting to be handed specs. You'll work across web apps, e-commerce and internal platforms, covering the full cycle from research and wireframes to shipped, tested components.
The position is 24 hours per week with a flexible schedule and fully remote from anywhere in Mexico.
This role is conducted in English. Daily communication with the internal team, clients and international stakeholders happens in English, along with all documentation and meetings, so professional fluency is required.
What you'll do
- Design user flows and interfaces for web and mobile, from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes.
- Build and maintain React components with attention to responsiveness, accessibility and performance.
- Create and evolve a design system of reusable components.
- Translate business requirements into clear, usable interface solutions.
- Run usability tests and propose improvements based on data and user feedback.
- Work with the backend team to integrate interfaces with APIs and services.
- Keep visual and brand consistency across all digital products.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in UX/UI design for digital products.
- Proven experience building in React (components, hooks, state management).
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3/SASS and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Advanced Figma skills.
- Portfolio with digital product case studies (required to move forward in the process).
- Version control with Git.
- Advanced English, spoken and written (C1 or equivalent). Candidates will be interviewed in English.
- Availability for 24 hours per week and the autonomy to work independently in a fully remote setup.
Nice to have
- Java (Spring Boot) experience, or willingness to get involved on the backend.
- REST API integration.
- TypeScript, NextJs, or libraries such as Tailwind or Material UI.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban) and tools like Jira.
- Motion design or microinteraction experience.
What we offer
- Competitive part-time compensation: $30,000 – $40,000 MXN monthly.
- 100% remote work from anywhere in Mexico, with a flexible schedule.
- Full ownership of the design function, with real influence over the product.
- Direct exposure to international projects and English-speaking stakeholders.
- Benefits and full terms discussed during the interview process.
