📋 Description

• Lead Rapid Research studies end-to-end, delivering insights within 1–2 weeks or an accelerated 1-week sprint
• Consult on research methodology and scope and develop kickoff documents and moderator guides
• Moderate remote and in-person interviews, unmoderated studies, and heuristic evaluations
• Conduct literature reviews and competitive analyses
• Deliver end-of-day session summaries and lead stakeholder alignment on key takeaways
• Analyze findings and develop final reports with actionable recommendations
• Present findings in stakeholder readouts
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships and provide consultative guidance
• Coordinate with recruiting teams on participant screening and scheduling
• Support Japanese-language studies and localization needs as the Japan/APAC regional point of contact
• Manage multiple concurrent studies across preparation, fielding, and reporting
• Improve internal research processes and best practices
• Develop research and consultative skills and contribute to the knowledge library and internal training
• Contribute to Custom Research projects such as focus groups, diary studies, benchmarking, surveys, card sorting, contextual inquiry, and Critical User Journey audits

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience conducting qualitative UX or market research, including leading studies end-to-end
• Native/fluent fluency in Japanese
• Business-level fluency in English, with ability to moderate sessions and write deliverables in both languages
• Experience partnering with clients/stakeholders in a consulting or agency environment, or equivalent research background
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities across concurrent studies, and meet fast-moving deadlines
• Skill in in-depth interviews, unmoderated studies, heuristic evaluation, literature review, and competitive analysis
• Strong presentation skills, including building decks and presenting results and recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, accuracy, completeness, and time management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
• Comfort using online/remote research tools such as Google Meet, Zoom, dscout, and GSuite
• Responsive, service-oriented, and client-focused approach
• Curiosity, enthusiasm, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced problem-solving environment
• Self-motivated quick learner who thrives with minimal supervision
• Collaborative team orientation with ownership and follow-through
• Commitment to inclusive, empathetic collaboration
• Willingness to collaborate across APAC, EMEA, and US time zones, with occasional schedule flexibility and extended hours
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
• Must be located in Japan
