JOB SUMMARY:

As a User Researcher the incumbent will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and business teams to shape and innovate the future of entertainment. This role will involve conducting a wide range of product and design/user experience (UX) research projects, including usability research, foundational/behavioural research, innovation ideation and will contribute to improve the understanding of the user, build user-loved products and contributing to user-led innovation.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

Design is integral to shaping the user experience at [REDACTED]. We have 3 major areas of focus - Product Design, UX Research, and Systems & Standards. We are a closely-knit team of 30 people at the moment, who work across the spectrum of design from deriving insights from data, designing interfaces and prototypes, and testing with users to motion graphics and illustrations.

REPORTING TO:

Group UXR Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct user research on various aspects of products and experiences using methods such as usability studies, projective techniques, contextual inquiry and mixed methods.
• Regularly engage with users to understand their needs and pain points
• Collect and analyze user behavior through qualitative studies, ethnographic studies, surveys, benchmark studies, and online experiments (A/B testing)
• Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other User Experience Researchers (UXRs) to identify research opportunities
• Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports, storyboards, and presentations

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative user research methodologies, including experimental design, surveys, focus groups, in-person and remote usability testing, ethnographic field research, and more
• Keen interest in UX design processes and methodologies An interest in exploring new methodologies
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on translating research insights into impactful product experiences, and a proven ability to work within tight timelines and excellent project management skills
• Experience working in high-paced product startup environments is preferred
• Understanding behavioral analytics and follow data-driven decisions
• Passion for research and testing, with a desire to collaborate with creative contributors in Agile project teams. A portfolio demonstrating complex system research and user testing outcomes for web, LR(living room devices) and mobile experiences
• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to connect the dots between multiple projects while aligning with the core product and business values
• Willingness to work independently and collaboratively, thrive in quick-paced environments with tight deadlines, and efficiently handle high-volume tasks
• Strong synthesis skills with the ability to distill data into explicit, actionable insights and craft reports or narratives tailored to different stakeholder levels and decision-making needs
• Good communication skills to confidently present research findings to various audience types and seniority levels, providing valuable insights that drive tangible value and execution of research and testing outcomes

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

35 years of experience in UX Research with a portfolio that reflects strong craft, and storytelling
