πŸ“‹ Description

  • Own the end-to-end UX/UI vision, from high-level art direction, mood, and tone through final polish in [REDACTED]
  • Design and implement UI systems including HUD, menus, onboarding, and settings
  • Craft game feel through micro-interactions, transitions, easing curves, screen shake, particle timing, and sound/haptic synchronization
  • Build and maintain a cohesive visual design system covering typography, color, iconography, spacing, and motion language
  • Prototype and iterate rapidly and independently from one-line briefs or rough sketches to polished, shippable results
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design on a small team of 3–5 people
  • Balance accessibility requirements against aesthetic ambition, including colorblind modes, readability, and input-method parity across controller, keyboard/mouse, and touch
  • Build reusable UI components and prototyping tools for team use

🎯 Requirements

  • Shipped at least one commercial game with visible, personal ownership over UX/UI
  • Portfolio showing both design thinking and actual in-engine implementation, not just [REDACTED]/[REDACTED] comps

  • Comfortable in [REDACTED]/[REDACTED] or similar for high-fidelity mockups, and able to translate them faithfully into engine
  • Understanding of β€œjuice” and feedback-loop design
  • Demonstrated self-direction and ability to drive ambiguous creative direction to a finished, polished state without heavy supervision
  • Strong fundamentals in typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience coordinating visual polish with audio and haptic feedback

πŸ–οΈ Benefits

  • Contract position with opportunities for extension depending on project status and work compatibility
  • Approximately 30 hours/week contract position
  • Expected 30–40 hours per week most weeks
