UI/UX Designers

About the role

[REDACTED] is seeking two full-time UI/UX Designers to join our digital design team in Mentone, Victoria.

The successful applicants will help plan, design and prepare engaging web and digital product interfaces for internet publication, with a focus on user interface design, navigation, layout, usability, information structure and clear communication of content.

The role suits designers who can work across design, prototyping and front-end implementation, including collaboration within JavaScript, React, HTML and SASS codebases.

Key duties

The successful applicants will be responsible for:

• Consulting with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to understand project objectives, user needs and design constraints.
• Researching and analysing user, business and functional requirements.
• Designing web and digital product interfaces with a focus on usability, navigation, layout, accessibility and responsive design.
• Preparing wireframes, prototypes, sketches, diagrams, layouts and design specifications.
• Creating interface designs using text, imagery, colour, typography, layout and interaction states.
• Producing design concepts and prototypes in tools such as Figma.
• Working with front-end codebases using JavaScript, React, HTML and SASS.
• Applying industry-standard design systems and guidelines, including Material Design, Fluent Design System and Apple Human Interface Guidelines.
• Collaborating with developers to ensure designs are feasible, production-ready and accurately implemented.
• Supporting browser testing, design QA, documentation and archiving of design files.

Selection criteria

Applicants must have:

• Tertiary-level qualifications in Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, Web Design, UX/UI Design or a related field.
• Strong UI design, UX design and prototyping skills.
• Experience designing websites, web applications, digital products or transactional online interfaces.
• Proficiency with Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.
• Practical experience working with JavaScript, React, HTML and SASS.
• Familiarity with design systems, responsive design, accessibility and browser testing.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with clients, stakeholders and developers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality design work in a team environment.
• Full-time Australian working rights on an ongoing basis.
