As a Staff Design System Engineer on the UI Foundation team at [REDACTED], you will be responsible for building and maintaining core front-end cross-cutting areas of our codebase. This includes implementing a shared design system and UI component library for use in our web, desktop, and browser extension clients, supporting other teams in identifying and executing on opportunities for componentization and reusability, and ensuring that our teams have proper tooling and design documentation to enable success. Our UI Foundation team is just that: foundational to the design and user experience of our [REDACTED] application portfolio. We’re looking for someone who brings consistent, independently-driven accountability and responsibility combined with strong collaboration skills – someone who has shown a propensity to find and work through solutions on a regular basis, mentoring others along the way.

This is an all-remote team and we’re looking for someone located in the US. We do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Become an expert and authority on our platform front-end codebase and our design system component library
• Lead development of new fully accessible components, build and update components to support new features, and document usage clearly for consumers
• Collaborate with designers to implement our design system
• Support other teams in the organization with guidance and direction on componentization, opportunities for reuse, and overall front-end best practices
• Participate in code reviews, setting a high standard for quality and mentoring others
• Contribute bug fixes submitted by the user community

WHAT YOU BRING TO [REDACTED]

• Demonstrated expertise in building Angular web applications
• Demonstrated expertise in building reusable libraries with rock solid APIs from a unified design system perspective
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with designers and implementing design specs from Figma or similar tools
• Demonstrated experience with web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and implementing accessible experiences
• Experience with Tailwind CSS for component styling
• Experience writing developer-facing usage documentation
• Experience with Storybook or another component modeling toolset
• Collaborative and adaptable mindset
• Openness and authenticity combined with excellent communication skills
• Excitement and enthusiasm for open source and for better internet security
• Excellent problem-solving skills – you might not know all the answers, but you know how to find and communicate the solution

In the United States, the starting base compensation range for this role is $180,000 - $245,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, relevant experience, and skill set as assessed in the interview process, as well as market data by location. See our careers page for a list of benefits.
