About the role
[REDACTED] provides website design and development, including [REDACTED] e-commerce, [REDACTED], custom websites and AI-assisted web solutions. The Senior UX/UI & Web Designer plans and designs client websites and web interfaces, with a focus on intuitive navigation, information architecture, effective visual communication and responsive user experience. The role works with clients, project managers and developers to translate business and functional requirements into implementable designs.
Key responsibilities
- Consult with clients and project teams to determine website design objectives, target users, functional requirements and project constraints.
- Analyse users' information needs; prepare design briefs, site maps, content hierarchies and navigation structures.
- Plan and design responsive interfaces for business websites, [REDACTED] stores, [REDACTED] sites, landing pages and custom web platforms.
- Produce wireframes, page layouts, high-fidelity mock-ups and interactive prototypes, focusing on usability and ease of navigation.
- Combine typography, imagery, colours, layout and interactive elements to communicate information effectively to intended audiences.
- Design product discovery, listing and detail pages, cart interfaces and related customer journeys for online stores.
- Prepare visual and functional design specifications for custom website components and collaborate with developers on feasible implementation.
- Present website design concepts, discuss alternative solutions with clients and developers, and incorporate feedback into approved designs.
- Conduct or coordinate user research and usability testing; analyse user feedback and relevant interaction data.
- Develop reusable UI components, style guides and website design standards; prepare annotated mock-ups and developer handover documentation.
About you
- Bachelor's degree or higher in web design, digital media, interactive design, visual communication, human–computer interaction or a closely related field; OR at least five years of relevant professional experience in website, UI or closely related digital design.
- Professional portfolio of professional website/interface projects.
- Experience working with developers and stakeholders.
- Professional UI/UX design and prototyping tools (such as [REDACTED] or equivalent); wireframing and responsive web design.
- Website information architecture, navigation, user-centred design, usability and accessibility principles.
- Ability to translate client requirements into precise production specifications and communicate with technical teams.
- Knowledge of [REDACTED], [REDACTED] or comparable commercial web platforms is advantageous.
