Senior UI/UX Designer

The Senior UI/UX Designer is responsible for ensuring that every consumer touchpoint, whether web or app, reflects a coherent, accessible, and commercially effective user experience. This role will own the design system and UX principles that govern how we communicate globally, while also being hands-on across individual markets and product initiatives. Where internal capacity is stretched, the role takes the lead in briefing, directing, and quality-assuring output from external partners.

In this role, you will be in charge of:

• Own the UX/UI design standard across web and app, ensuring coherence, accessibility, and brand alignment globally.
• Define and maintain a scalable design system usable by internal teams and agencies alike.
• Translate strategic briefs from product owners and commercial stakeholders into actionable design direction, from early concept through to detailed specification.
• Champion user-centred design practices: lead usability reviews, interpret research and analytics data, and advocate for the end consumer in product decisions.
• Leverage AI-assisted design tools (e.g. [REDACTED] AI, or equivalent) to accelerate ideation, generate design variations, and reduce time-to-concept, freeing capacity for higher-order UX thinking and decision-making.
• Deliver high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications for web initiatives.
• Design and iterate on app UX in close collaboration with the product owner and the development teams, balancing user needs with platform constraints and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure designs are handed off to development with sufficient fidelity and documentation.
• Maintain awareness of accessibility standards and ensure compliance across all design outputs.
• Act as the primary in-house creative leader when engaging external design agencies, briefing work, reviewing output, and holding agencies to internal design and quality standards.
• Evaluate agency output critically and provide structured, actionable feedback that improves iteration quality over time.
• Establish and evolve design governance practices, ensuring consistent UI/UX standards.
• Stay current with UX/UI trends, tooling developments, and platform-specific conventions (iOS, Android, web) and introduce relevant updates to team practice.
• Evaluate and selectively integrate AI tooling into the design workflow, from generative UI exploration to automated accessibility checks, and establish team guidelines for responsible, quality-controlled use.

Your background:

• Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline
• 5+ years in UI/UX design roles
• At least 2 years at senior or lead level
• Expert-level proficiency in [REDACTED]
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX delivery across web and mobile apps, at a global or multi-market scale
• Proven experience directing external creative agencies: briefing, reviewing, and maintaining quality standards
• Solid grounding in interaction design principles, information architecture, and user research methods
• Commercially aware, able to connect design decisions to business outcomes such as conversion, engagement, and market adoption
• Deep understanding of product development cycles
