Senior UI Developer (React)

As a GCP-qualified cloud engineer at a large global investment bank, your role will involve assisting with the FIC (fixed income and currencies) cloud migrations under Project Cirrus. Your primary focus will be on building, migrating, and deploying applications to GCP, utilizing Terraform module coding, Google infrastructure, and cloud-native services such as GCE, GKE, CloudSQL/Postgres. Additionally, you will be expected to have good written and spoken English skills to facilitate knowledge transfer to existing development and support teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead UI Development: Architect, design, develop, and implement complex and highly interactive user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks and libraries like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to a team of UI developers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• UI/UX Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to translate wireframes, mockups, and user stories into high-quality, functional user interfaces.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and address UI performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal loading times and responsiveness.
• Accessibility & Internationalization: Ensure UI components meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and are designed for internationalization and localization.
• Code Quality & Best Practices: Establish coding standards, best practices, and design patterns for front-end development, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to security guidelines.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Write comprehensive tests to ensure the reliability of UI components and applications.
• Architectural Contributions: Contribute to the overall front-end architecture and make informed design decisions.
• Component Library Development: Drive the development of reusable UI component libraries to ensure consistency.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to the front-end.
• Stay Current: Research and evaluate new front-end technologies, tools, and methodologies, recommending improvements where necessary.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for UI components and processes.

Skills Required:

• 9+ years of relevant experience as a UI Developer.
• 5+ years of extensive experience in front-end development, with a significant portion in a lead or expert-level role.
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3/Sass/Less.
• Expertise in at least one major JavaScript framework/library, with React.js highly preferred.
• Understanding of state management libraries, build tools, testing frameworks, RESTful APIs, version control systems, responsive design principles, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Knowledge of UI/UX principles, usability best practices, and accessibility standards.
• Problem-solving skills, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
