Senior Product Designer (UX/UI)

Hybrid – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote | Sydney

We’re partnering with a fast-growing Australian technology company to appoint its first dedicated Senior Product Designer.

The business has developed a sophisticated customer engagement platform spanning contact centre voice and messaging, SMS and email campaigns, no-code AI agents and an underlying AI intelligence layer. Its software is used extensively by sales, service and collections teams throughout their working day.

The foundations are already in place, including an established design system, shared UI kit and Figma libraries. This role will take ownership of design across the platform, build on those foundations and shape how product design operates within the business moving forward.

What You’ll Do

• Own the design of features across multiple connected products, from early problem discovery through to the final shipped experience
• Develop and evolve the existing design system, introducing new patterns, improving documentation and solving more complex design challenges
• Improve the usability of dense, data-rich screens where individual interactions can include attributes, attached data, history and settings
• Establish effective ways for design and engineering to collaborate, including structured handovers and pre-release design reviews
• Create prototypes, partner closely with engineers and maintain a high standard of design quality
• Use AI tools where they meaningfully improve the design and development process
• Shape emerging agentic experiences, including how users build, configure and supervise AI agents
• Design clear ways for AI agents to communicate what they have done, why they have done it and when human input is required
• Influence the wider product roadmap and help establish the future design practice

What You’ll Bring

• Approximately five or more years’ experience designing B2B software products, ideally within a smaller or scaling product team
• Strong capability across the complete product design process, from discovery and problem definition through to detailed UI design
• Experience developing and expanding a design system—not simply working within an established one
• Confidence designing complex, workflow-driven and data-heavy interfaces
• Strong Figma capability and experience working with shared libraries and reusable components
• Experience using AI tools as part of your everyday design process, including code-based prototyping
• The confidence to work autonomously and take ownership as the organisation’s first dedicated designer
• Sound commercial judgement and the ability to distinguish between what needs to be solved now and what can wait
• Excellent communication and the ability to collaborate with product leaders, engineers, senior stakeholders and founders

Highly Regarded

• Experience designing AI-agent or agentic interfaces, including conversational UI, prompt and instruction building, agent configuration or AI explainability
• Exposure to contact centres, telecommunications, unified communications or customer experience platforms
• The ability to read or write front-end code such as HTML, CSS or React for prototyping and engineering collaboration
• Experience creating or establishing a design system from the ground up
