📋 Description

• Own major parts of the [REDACTED] learner app from onboarding through tutor-session booking
• Design end-to-end learner journeys across iOS and Android, including onboarding, placement, daily learning, AI practice, tutor booking, progress, and free-to-paid conversion
• Improve learner habit formation, retention, engagement, and perceived progress
• Shape AI speaking and writing experiences, including conversational interfaces, pronunciation and writing feedback, and AI-to-human tutor handoffs
• Use AI design tools and agentic workflows to explore, prototype, and produce designs rapidly
• Pressure-test PRDs, identify edge cases, and refine problems with Product Management
• Evaluate AI output for craft, accessibility, localization, and brand fit; update the design system when recurring issues arise
• Conduct learner interviews and usability tests, analyze analytics, and run experiments
• Own conversion and retention experiences such as trials, paywalls, upgrade prompts, and reminders
• Design experiences for corporate learners, employer-paid access, entitlements, and employer-visible progress
• Build and evolve [REDACTED]'s shared design system, especially mobile patterns, motion, and micro-interactions
• Design for multiple markets and languages, including text expansion, right-to-left scripts, and accessibility
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ship quickly and refine details after launch
• Report to the Staff Product Designer and partner with Product Management, Engineering, AI, and learning experience teams

🎯 Requirements

• Several years designing and shipping consumer mobile apps used daily
• Portfolio demonstrating native iOS and Android design craft
• Evidence that design work improved retention, engagement, or conversion, with clear measurement approach
• Strong interaction and visual design skills, including motion, feedback, and pacing
• Hands-on experience conducting interviews and usability tests
• Experience using A/B tests, analytics, research, and experimentation to make decisions
• Understanding of B2B products where the payer and user may differ
• Daily experience with AI design tools and agentic workflows, including Claude Design, Figma Make, Paper, or Claude Code
• Ability to evaluate, reject, or rework AI-generated output
• Experience working within and extending a design system
• Clear communication and ability to challenge PMs, engineers, and senior stakeholders with actionable reasoning
• Fluent English
• Based in Germany, Switzerland, or Hungary
• Nice to have: learning, language, content, or daily-habit product background
• Nice to have: freemium and subscription model experience, including app-store payment flows
• Nice to have: experience designing for Latin American or South Asian markets
• Nice to have: experience taking AI design output through code and pull requests, with iOS and Android simulator testing
