About this role

At [REDACTED], we’re creating a more playful world through tennis – for everyone. From grassroots to Grand Slams, tennis brings people together, inspires communities, and builds champions on and off the court.

We’re a team of imaginative and passionate people who believe in the power of sport to make a difference.

Want your chance to make a mark on a world-class, record-breaking event? We are hiring for a Senior Experience Designer to join our event operations team to deliver the Australian Open 2027. This is a full-time fixed-term contract until March 2027.

As this is a seasonal role, we require full availability and flexibility across the summer months, December – February. If you're ready to help us serve up real impact, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re committed to reflecting the communities we work and play in. We strongly encourage applications from women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQI+ individuals, people with disability, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

About the role

Reporting to the Customer Experience & Design Strategy Manager, you will take priority AO27 experiences from early concept through to live delivery. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will present evidence-based recommendations, balancing customer experience with commercial, technical and operational constraints. During the Australian Open, you will also conduct on-the-ground research to understand how live services perform and identify opportunities for future improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • designing app and web experiences from wireframes through to high-fidelity UI
  • mapping current and future-state patron journeys across digital and physical touchpoints
  • facilitating workshops and co-design sessions with cross-functional teams
  • translating service concepts into clear requirements and blueprints; and planning and conducting user research and usability testing.

About you

You’re an enthusiastic designer who blends creativity with systems thinking. You thrive in collaboration and know how to get things done in cross-functional teams.

You have:

  • 5+ years of UX, service, or product design experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
  • A standout portfolio of user-centric design work to showcase
  • Advanced [REDACTED] proficiency and a keen visual eye
  • Experience designing for accessibility and inclusion
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • An understanding of Agile and Lean practice
  • Preparedness to be flexible regarding working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with [REDACTED]

What’s to love?

  • Career development with a range of formal education and on the job training opportunities
  • Tickets to the Australian Open
  • Monthly health & wellbeing activities with access to [REDACTED]
  • Onsite gym, tennis facilities & free onsite car parking
  • A range of discounts from our sponsorship partners

To Apply

If you think you’re up to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you! Please submit your resume and cover letter via our online application system. Please note, only applications submitted through our system will be considered. You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.

If you need assistance or adjustments to fully participate in the application process, please contact [REDACTED].

We will be reviewing applications as they are received.

[REDACTED] is committed to providing a safe environment for all tennis participants, including children and young people. It is essential everyone involved with delivering tennis in Australia understands their responsibility in relation to child-safety.
