📋 Description

• Own the migration strategy for the Appointment Scheduling front-end estate from Angular to React
• Establish shared component libraries, design tokens, state management patterns, and routing architecture
• Define safe Angular and React coexistence patterns during migration
• Own the visual and interaction language, including component library, spacing, color, typography, and interaction patterns
• Maintain the design system in Storybook and connect it to Figma
• Ensure applications meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards
• Optimize interfaces for responsive web, touch-screen kiosks, and branch tablets
• Design and build BFF endpoints, Spring Boot routes, and UI data-shaping layers
• Design REST API contracts with error-handling and versioning conventions
• Collaborate with backend engineers on service-layer work and API design reviews
• Implement caching, optimistic UI, graceful degradation, and real-time event handling with WebSockets or SSE
• Champion test-driven development across unit, component, and end-to-end testing
• Establish and enforce testing standards using Vitest or Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress
• Lead front-end code reviews focused on testability, maintainability, and architectural consistency
• Use AI coding and design tools for scaffolding, migration, test generation, accessibility audits, and design exploration
• Set technical direction and document architectural decisions
• Mentor front-end engineers on React, TypeScript, testing, accessibility, and API integration
• Partner with the Principal PM and Team Lead on feature definition and implementation decisions

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in front-end or full-stack web development
• 3+ years at a senior or principal individual-contributor level owning front-end architecture for a production application suite
• Expert-level React and TypeScript, including hooks, concurrent features, performance optimization, and state management patterns
• Production experience migrating Angular applications to React
• Strong Angular fluency across multiple versions
• Ability and willingness to own the API layer for front-end features, including BFF patterns, REST endpoint design, and Spring Boot (Java) work
• Genuine design sensibility and ability to make design decisions without a dedicated designer
• Rigorous test-driven development discipline
• Proficiency with React Testing Library, Jest or Vitest, and Playwright or Cypress
• Solid WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility knowledge
• Hands-on experience with AI coding and design tools
• Based in the United States
• Willingness to travel occasionally for team and customer meetings
• Experience with scheduling, calendar, or real-time availability interfaces is nice to have
• Background in financial services, banking, credit unions, healthcare, or retail technology is nice to have
• Figma proficiency is nice to have
• Experience with Storybook is nice to have
• Micro Frontend architecture or module federation experience is nice to have
• Kiosk or large-format touch UX experience is nice to have
