Manager of Product Management - Workday
Narrative
The [REDACTED], the leading off-price apparel and home fashions retailer in the U.S. and the world is looking for a Manager of Product Management to join our Human Capital Management (HCM) Solution Delivery team which is responsible for software and systems that support [REDACTED]'s world-class Global Human Resources and Payroll organizations. This role will lead the team that designs, configures, and delivers the Global Workday Human Capital Management solution.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, Senior Product Manager who is passionate about all aspects of agile product management, is highly organized, and communicates well with internal and external stakeholders. The Manager of Product Management will collaborate with a wide range of people, including Senior Management and Business Leaders to identify and define customer needs, understand the Solution Context, and develops the Program Vision, Roadmap, and Features required to meet these needs including assurance that business needs cascades down to the team level. This role requires close, ongoing partnership with Engineering and Delivery counterparts to align on technical and delivery considerations, planning, and execution, ensuring solutions are strategic, high quality, and delivered efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintains a prioritized portfolio backlog, including the prioritization of epics with all global business partners
- Manages the overall solution design from a functional and technical perspective to minimize design/functionality conflicts
- Recognizes and manages upstream/downstream impacts from product decisions
- Manages design decisions that might impact other modules in scope
- Serves as the Platform SME across the modules in scope
- Coordinates across multiple Product Teams to manage dependencies
- Maintains overall responsibility for end-to-end testing - scenarios and execution
- Responsible for decisions that directly impact project timelines and budgets
- Manages demand versus capacity gaps and resource contention issues
- Partners with various teams within IT as needed to build agreements around solution approaches, operating principles, transition to production, etc. to deliver scalable, optimized solutions
- Ensures the program deliverables meet quality & success criteria following audit and controls guidelines.
- Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning at the portfolio/program level. Identifies and solves issues
Minimum Qualifications
- Overall experience required 16-22 years
- Team management experience required 6+ years
- 5+ years' experience working on a large, global platform of Workday HCM
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think independently
- Exceptional listening and communication skills (written, verbal)
- Strong agile leadership and methodology experience (Portfolio SAFe preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent IT Delivery skillset/training/experience
- Experience in leading corporate initiatives that have successfully introduced new technology solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Deep knowledge of solution delivery lifecycle, including product management, business requirements, application development, testing, technologies/platforms, frameworks, and methodologies
- Workday certification preferred but not required
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Manager (POPM) preferred
