Why this is an exciting opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Product Designer to shape complex experiences across our professional and investor products. You’ll lead work from early discovery and problem definition through to journey mapping, interaction design, validation and delivery support. This is an opportunity to influence product direction, partner with senior stakeholders and contribute to high-quality experiences for financial professionals, investors, clients and enterprise partners.

This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne, with two days per week in the office.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the design scoping of complex initiatives across internal teams, advice ecosystem partners and large financial institutions
  • Translate business priorities, customer needs, technical constraints and stakeholder expectations into clear design problems and delivery options
  • Shape end-to-end experiences across professional and investor products, including reporting, engagement, transactions, administration and platform workflows
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, subject matter experts, Operations teams and external stakeholders to understand requirements and align on scope
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to build shared understanding, clarify trade-offs and progress complex decisions
  • Develop journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs to explore, validate and communicate design direction
  • Use research, data, stakeholder insights and domain knowledge to support evidence-based design decisions
  • Design for complex financial and operational scenarios, including decision points, exceptions, communications and status visibility
  • Clearly communicate design rationale, risks, trade-offs and recommended approaches to influence product and delivery decisions
  • Produce well-documented design artefacts that support smooth handover to delivery teams
  • Apply established design system patterns and identify opportunities to introduce new patterns
  • Seek and respond to feedback while maintaining a consistent and coherent user experience

What you bring

You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.

  • Experience working across the product development lifecycle, from discovery and scoping through to delivery support
  • Experience designing complex workflows involving financial transactions, operational processes, regulated environments or multi-party decision-making
  • Strong product, interaction and systems-thinking capabilities
  • Ability to balance customer needs with commercial outcomes, risk, compliance and technical feasibility
  • Proven ability to simplify complex journeys and make edge cases easy to understand
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to present design direction through clear artefacts and storytelling
  • Experience partnering with Engineering and delivery teams to support practical implementation while maintaining design quality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where scope, requirements and stakeholder needs may evolve
