SUMMARY

We're looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team delivering high-quality visual design for a High Profile Government Department โ€” think campaign materials, publications, presentations, and brand assets used across government and international audiences. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, with room to also flex into UX/digital design occasionally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design visually compelling assets; presentations, publications, infographics, campaign and promotional materials, for a High Profile Government Department and related stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage press-ready artwork with print vendors, meeting production and brand standards
  • Maintain and evolve consistent visual identity and branding across all materials
  • Design layouts for print and digital assets
  • Produce multimedia content across platforms, ensuring a high level of quality and creativity
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for visual and brand elements
  • Opportunity to contribute to digital/UX projects, wireframes, prototypes, and interface design

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design works.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word and PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, colour theory, and layout.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment (at times).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Hold a NV1 or higher Australian Government security clearance.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles and best practices.
  • Understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and web development processes.
  • Willingness to learn and develop user experience design skills.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAITS

  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience working at a digital agency as a Graphic Designer or UI Designer.
  • Portfolio of key projects delivered in past years, calling out your role on the project, deliverables responsible and successes achieved.
  • Excellent communication skills (both in conversation and in writing) and a portfolio which demonstrates this ability in various phases of design.
  • Ability to work gracefully and have a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently.
  • Worked within collaborative, cross-functional teams to deliver multiple, successful projects.
  • A sense of humour!

Regards
