About the Role
We are seeking a Game Economy Designer to join our studio in Da Nang. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing in-game economies that align with Roblox gameplay standards. You will ensure that our simulator and tycoon-style games are engaging, balanced, and built for long-term player retention and monetization.
You'll collaborate with game designers and developers throughout the production cycle, from pre-production to live operations, to deliver high-quality economies at the pace of our release schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Implement Economies: Build and balance core resource systems, currencies, rewards, and progression loops for Roblox games.
- Model & Forecast: Simulate and predict player behavior to anticipate economic bottlenecks and design healthy sources and sinks.
- Balance at Scale: Develop tools and systems that allow rapid balancing in line with the frequent release cadence of our games.
- Quality Assurance: Test and validate economy features to ensure smooth, addictive, and rewarding gameplay experiences.
- Pre-Production Collaboration: Partner with game designers to integrate economy considerations into Game Design Documents (GDDs).
- Development Support: Work closely with studios during implementation, offering guidance and adjustments throughout production.
- Mentorship: Educate and mentor partner studios on economy design best practices to improve overall design quality.
- Live Ops Optimization: Analyze funnels, KPIs, and player data from launched games to refine and evolve the economy over time.
