Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning accessibility, usability and performance across everything shipped to end users.
  • Working closely with backend engineers to consume and help shape APIs.
  • Turning wireframes, product requirements and UX research into clean, well-tested frontend code.
  • Writing unit, integration and end-to-end tests, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Profiling and refactoring code to improve load times and reduce technical debt.
  • Collaborating with product managers, designers and backend engineers to translate requirements into deliverable features.
  • Following secure coding standards, particularly around handling of user data in the browser.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, including component libraries and UX patterns.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Your Background:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • 5+ years' hands-on experience in frontend software development with a strong UX focus.
  • Proficiency with a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility and responsive design principles.
  • Experience working against RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience optimising frontend performance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

  • AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Cursor.
  • Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and associated best practice.
