Design Lead

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Lead to join our e-commerce agency team. This role involves leading design strategy and execution, managing multiple projects, mentoring a design team, and collaborating closely with clients and cross-functional partners to deliver user-focused, business-driven design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Transform our ecommerce client needs and challenges into persuasive design solutions / UI/UX artefacts with consultative presentations.
• Apply expert knowledge of UX understanding, Conversion Rate Optimization and Visual Design principles to create highly aesthetic, user-centric and converting interfaces.
• Tap into available qualitative and quantitative research to inform design recommendations.
• Articulate and negotiate design decisions with clients.
• Create and maintain design systems and component libraries.
• Potentially lead, mentor, and manage a few design reports, including onboarding, day-to-day sprint work review and feedback and overall performance monitoring.
• Participate actively in sprint ceremonies, prioritize tasks, and manage timelines across multiple projects. Support initial project roadmapping and estimations.
• Facilitate and participate in collaborative syncs and workshops with relevant departments (Research, Development, etc) to ensure designs are data-driven and technically feasible.
• Coordinate design hand-offs to development and quality assurance teams and support implementation.
• Provide timely updates via project management tools and communicate effectively across teams.
• Demonstrate professionalism in meetings and communications, including punctuality, preparedness, and etiquette.
