About this role

Job Description

Are you a creative, strategic designer who loves turning ideas into compelling visual stories? Do you enjoy leading design projects end to end, from concept through to final delivery, while shaping and safeguarding a brand’s visual identity? If so, this role could be the right fit for you.

What you can expect:

The Communications & Brand Designer will lead [REDACTED]'s visual communication and design work across the organisation. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, translating priorities into compelling, mission-aligned visual solutions that strengthen brand positioning and stakeholder engagement. You will lead the creative direction and delivery of both day-to-day assets and larger initiatives, including websites, events, campaigns, and publications, working closely with internal stakeholders and, where relevant, external designers and creative collaborators. Through strong design leadership, you will ensure [REDACTED]'s visual identity is applied consistently while continuously evolving our creative approach.

Working with us is never routine, so your work will be central to the following areas.

Creative direction:

  • Lead the creative direction and evolution of [REDACTED]’s visual identity across all communication channels.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality design approach that strengthens brand recognition and engagement.
  • Translate complex information into compelling visual concepts that resonate with diverse audiences.

Visual branding:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously evolve [REDACTED]’s visual identity in line with the organisation’s values, purpose, and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communications.

Strategic design:

  • Lead end-to-end design projects, from concept development through implementation, production, and final delivery.
  • Develop creative concepts and deliver high-quality design solutions for campaigns, websites, reports, publications, presentations, social media, international events, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee external designers and videographers, agencies, and other creative suppliers, when required.

Visual communication:

  • Design compelling visual assets that strengthen storytelling across digital and print channels.
  • Develop infographics, illustrations, icons, and other visual resources that communicate complex information clearly.
  • Support the production of video and multimedia content with external collaborators when required, ensuring alignment with [REDACTED]’s visual identity and communication objectives.

Design systems and templates:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve branded templates, design assets, and visual guidelines for presentations, proposals, publications, and other communication materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective and consistent design solutions.

Marketing and outreach materials:

  • Design high-quality digital and print materials, including brochures, reports, banners, exhibition stands, event branding, social media assets, and other marketing and outreach collateral.

Website design and digital experience:

  • Lead the visual design and continuous improvement of [REDACTED]’s websites and digital platforms.
  • Apply UX/UI principles to improve usability, accessibility, and user experience.
  • Develop creative concepts for new pages, digital journeys, and interactive experiences that strengthen storytelling and stakeholder engagement.

Your first year with us:

Within three months, you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of [REDACTED]’s visual identity, brand guidelines, and existing design assets and templates.
  • Build working relationships with internal stakeholders across the organisation and understand current design and communication priorities.
  • Begin contributing to day-to-day design deliverables under guidance from the Senior Manager Communications.

Within six months, you will:

  • Independently lead design projects from concept through to final delivery.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality application of [REDACTED]’s visual identity across assigned projects.
  • Begin contributing to strategic design initiatives such as website design or international event materials.

Within twelve months, you will:

  • Operate as the organisation’s trusted creative lead, managing multiple concurrent design projects independently.
  • Take ownership of the continuous evolution of [REDACTED]’s visual identity and design systems.
  • Play an active role in shaping the visual design of [REDACTED]’s websites and digital platforms.

Important that you:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design, or a related field
  • Bring at least 5 years of professional experience in graphic and digital design, including leading creative projects from concept to delivery
  • Have demonstrated experience in brand development and visual identity management within established brand guidelines
  • Have experience designing across multiple channels, including websites, campaigns, publications, and events
  • Have experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external creative suppliers (agencies, photographers, videographers, printers)
  • Have strong visual storytelling and layout design skills, with excellent proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Have a solid understanding of branding and visual identity systems, plus working knowledge of UX/UI principles and digital design trends
  • Are able to lead creative projects independently while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders
  • Have strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Are fluent in English, written and spoken

Would also be great, but not necessary, if you:
